I am a Video Fan and have been for many years. My tastes
haven't necessarily changed over the years, but ... I have
become more selective. So, today I am more interested in
Exceptional Films that aren't aimed at filling the box office.

"I think the really good films today are
a bit what books used to be... "

In this post I would like to present some such films that
may not be so well known but are worth watching.

P.S. I like Stories with strong characters, that are close to reality, quite a bit... 🙂

Exceptional Films that aren't aimed at filling the box office

Maybe "Shoplifters" then, from Hirokazu Kore-eda, 2018. I think it got some awards, but it is not a very popular movie I think. It's also "close to reality" in some ways.

For me at least, it was the kind of movie I watched only telling to myself "meh, I might give it a chance" when I was browsing on Arte (a EU Tv channel), and the slap I took from the story was very unexpected and memorable. Hence, I couldn't suggest it more.
